Home Team Correcting with Acrobat

FAQ: How can I submit corrections?

A customer receives from us PDF files of a brochure in the layout stage. The client prints the PDF files, then manually writes his corrections and faxes back the pages (or writes the corrections to e-mail or Word doc). Not very contemporary, right?

Actually one can run the whole workflow in Acrobat. Since Acrobat 7 Pro and Adobe Reader 7 (available at no charge) participants with Adobe Reader can comment on PDF files as needed. At the beginning of a correction process, the PDF is simply sent as an invitation from Acrobat Pro, for example, from us. This way, the familiar commenting tools in Acrobat are activated and reviewers can add their comments with any of the available commenting and markup tools and then send it back.

The most popular commenting tool is,  as in the example below, the sticky note. With this tool, a note icon appears on the page and a window pops up for the insertion of text messages. You can add a note anywhere on the page and place it where you want in the document.

Good to know! If you work with Acrobat Professional and launch an email-based review, you send a copy of the PDF file, allowing you to easily integrate in the original PDF file the comments you get.
